Play this song loud at all times. I got the cd, now I need to get the long play vinyl. This song gets better and better everytime I play it. Greetings from USA……!!!!!
I agree, it’s not as strong a performance as you’d hope for, but that might be down to the paper-thin T.V. mix. Jim fares worst – there’s no bottom end, and his vocal is so far out in front it’s like he has to stand down to hear the band behind him. He sounds a little ‘precious’ in spots.
Still, there’s much to enjoy: although it’s thin, Charlie’s chords are fantastically melodic in this version. And listen to that little drum fill Gaynor throws in at 2:14-5. God, was he dextrous!
Great performance by Simple Minds. This song is a jewel. It took me almost like 20 years to find out who played it but it was really worth it. I will buy this LP Vinyl when I have the first chance. Thanks to PME2001 for an outstanding job on this material. I will share this information with my best friends. Thank You All…..!

This is actually one of my favourite live vids I’ve seen, Mr Burchill really gives it a real melody you don’t get on the album version.

Absolutely awesome – this was well before I got into them (about 1985 I took interest)but on this showing they look like they were at their best here.

PS The crowd is a bunch of stiffs. How could you stay still to one of the Minds’ best dance tunes?
