Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario has a special place for camping, hiking, canoeing and backpacking.

The park is about three hours north of Toronto and two hours west of Ottawa. Provincial highway #60 runs through the south end of the park and is the main entrance and exit point for park visitors.

Algonquin Park was established in 1893, and its 7,725 square kilometres of forests, lakes, and rivers have been enjoyed and cherised by millions of people for more than 100 years.

Over the decades Algonquin Park has earned worldwide fame. It has been featured in more than 40 books and numerous videos and travelogues. For environmental and biological researchers Algonquin Park has become one of the most important place in Canada.
