Tip #6: Look for a real estate agent who is actively soliciting business. Agents who don't advertise or who are not actively looking for business are probably talking to fewer people and doing fewer deals. Agents who are out in the market looking for new business have their fingers on the pulse of the market. They know what buyers are looking for, and how much they are willing to pay.

Wow! My bicycle trip of Vietnam is something I'll never forget! Our Vietnam Bicycle Tour - started out from Hanoi Capital and terminated way down in Hochiminh City in the southern part of Vietnam.
During our trip we saw tremendous sites at Halong Bay, HoaBinh, Hoi An, Hue, and finally Hochiminh City. Whenever possible we stayed off the main highways - our route hardly touched the busy main highway. Our friendly group of cyclers just traveled quiet or little used roads to discover the real Vietnam.
And get this - we took excursions by boat in Halong, Hue and on Mekong river as well as interesting rides to Cu Chi Tunnels. Then we biked through the impressive limestone karst countryside of HoaBinh and Halong bay.
When we reached Hochiminh City in the south, we even had time to ride to Mekong delta and stay overnight in local Vietnamese homes. What a great experience!
Our entire bike tour of Vietnam took 14 days and it's one bike tour I'll never forget.

Looking for real estate in Ontario that will put you in easy access of 50 lakes, rivers and waterways? The City of Kawartha Lakes welcomes you!
To many, the City of Kawartha Lakes is considered a playground for outdoor sports enthusiasts. Whether you are interested in the water, woodlands, snow sports, cycling or ATVs, the Kawartha area offers an abundance of opportunities. If living close to the water is what you are after, look no further!
Fenelon Falls is one of Ontario’s most noted breathtaking beauties of nature. Many individuals refer to the falls as the “jewel” of the Kawarthas. Imagine going to a local restaurant and dining as you watch one of the most amazing water displays that nature has created. The sound and beauty of the rushing water over the falls, a cold or hot beverage, the company of family or friends and best of all it’s Friday night and the weekend awaits. Lucky you, your chosen hometown is in the wonderful lake lands of the Kawarthas.
Bobcaygeon is home to Lock 34 of the Trent-Severn Waterway. What an opportunity for anyone who has never experienced the swing bridge of the lock system. Take Away Food In London - by Dawson
You’ll find them absolutely everywhere across the capital. Take Away eateries are commonplace in just about every High Street, Parade or Station approach in the outskirts of London. But I know what you’re thinking – they all sell the same greasy food, but under a different name (often a variant of the words ‘Charcoal’, ‘Grill’, ‘Kebab’ or ‘Fish Bar’). And you’re right – a lot of them do serve very average food, simply because the attitude is that the prices are low, it’s fast food, and therefore it doesn’t have to be great quality. An example I like to illustrate with is the salad that they serve at Kebab centres; watery and bland, this is simply to compliment the meat. One could also see it as a half-hearted attempt to spread the balance between meat and the more healthy option of vegetables. One thing IS for sure – contrary to popular belief, you can find a few gems hidden amongst the trash.
The first time I went to Efes, 13 Chatterton Road, Bromley I didn’t expect miracles. It looked like quite an ordinary kebab house from the outside, but when I sat down with my large döner and chips and started eating, things took a great turn. I can honestly say, I have never tasted kebab meat like that before. The chilli sauce drizzled over the shish complimented the juicy, succulent strips of lamb perfectly...

Why Bother With Travel Insurance If You're A Canadian Travelling Within Canada? - by Kade Phillips
Whatever your politics, whatever your religion, and whether you’re wealthy or not so well off, we Canadians are indeed a blessed people when compared with most of the rest of the world. Anyone who doesn’t recognize this obviously hasn’t done much travelling outside of Canada, or simply has a very particular grievance of some sort against some aspect of Canada.
For the most part, Canada works, and from sea to shining sea, from our southern border to the icy north, we are collectively better off than most of the rest of the worlds population. You know this to be true if you’ve been outside of our borders for any length of time.
Physically, our great land is so varied, and so vast, that in fact it would be possible to spend every vacation right here in Canada, never leaving the country, and barely even scratch the surface of what there is to see and do, and still have a great vacation every time.
One of the things we can be most proud of is our health care system. Yes, it’s not perfect, but how many things are? And, fortunately, as a Canadian travelling within our own borders, our various Provincial and Territorial health care plans cover us for the most part, in the event of accident or tragedy that injures our health while travelling outside of the province or territory of our residence, but still within Canada...

Brampton Ontario: A Fast Growing Community - bt Rob Parker
Choosing the right community in which to settle and raise your family is a daunting task. There are just so many different things to consider. Employment opportunities, the quality of the educational system, transportation… All of these things need to be considered before investing in a community through a real estate purchase. You might also want to consider how an investment in real estate is likely to fare over the course of time. Is it likely that your home will appreciate, depreciate, or retain its value over the short and long term?
A community that many people have been investing in is that of Brampton, Ontario. This community has seen an amazing 20 percent hike in population over the course of a year and this trend doesn’t show any sign of stopping soon. The population hike is primarily attributed to a surge in immigration of South Asians. Immigration has contributed to the diverse population of Brampton. In fact, more than 40 percent of residents belong to a visible minority group.
This increase in population has led to an increase in the housing market of Brampton as well...

New Loft Developments In Toronto, Ontario - by Rob Parker
Loft living is at its finest in Toronto, and the market is booming. There are literally dozens upon dozens of loft developments under construction in Toronto, and competition is tough. For many people interested in purchasing living space in a new loft development, the search begins early and it is grueling.
One thing that makes finding a loft so difficult is that 50 percent of loft developments are sold before the building is listed on the public market. This means that people wishing to buy a loft must do a lot of research and try to secure a loft before construction is completed. If they are successful, there are many rewards. Many lofts in the Toronto area increase in value anywhere from $10,000 to $20,000 on the day that they are placed for sale on the public housing market.
Lofts are distinct from condos in that they feature exposed ductwork, exposed beams and columns, few interior walls, and high ceilings. They are very open spaces, commonly two stories high and have a lot of original features that set them apart from other homes on the market.
There are two types of loft developments: hard and soft. Hard loft developments are created by converting an old commercial building such as a warehouse or factory. Once obtaining such a building...

Now that we're into the last half of winter it's not too early to start planning your next golf vacation in Ontario. And the most popular destination for vacation golf in Ontario is in the Muskoka region, just about two hours north of Toronto.
In the last ten years a number of highly rated championship and resort courses have been opened in this area, taking full advantage of the unique landscape.
One group of courses worth trying is the Clublink threesome: Lake Joseph, Rocky Crest and Grandview. All three are unique, challenging, and memorable. Just outside of Port Carling on beautiful Lake Joseph, the Lake Joseph Club was one of the first courses in the area to cater specifically to cottagers and resort visitors. It was soon followed by Rocky Crest a few miles away near MacTier and Grandview about an hour's drive away in Huntsville. Grandview was designed by PGA tour pro Mark O'Meara.
Huntsville is also the site of the famous Deerhurst Lodge where Shania Twain got her start in show business. But Deerhurst is even more famous for its outstanding resort and golf courses. Deerhurst Highlands and Deerhurst Lakeside are both 18 hole courses carved out of an 800 acre wilderness.
Deerhurst anchors what is known as the "Muskoka Golf Trail" which features two other outstanding courses -- The Rock and The Ridge at Manitou. The Rock was designed by Nick Faldo on the western shores of Lake Rosseau and opened in 2004. The Ridge at Manitou is a Thomas McBroom course and was named "Best New Course in Ontario" by two golf magazines.
Two other outstanding courses are Taboo in Gravenhurst and Bigwin Island at Lake of Bays. Taboo was chosen by The Toronto Star as Ontario's #1 Golf Course and it has the endorsement of 2003 Master's winner Mike Weir. And Bigwin Island is built near the site of the historic Bigwin Inn, once billed as North America's largest and most luxurious summer resort.
These courses, and many more, have made the Muskoka region of Ontario a "must visit" for the golfer looking for challenging, beautiful, and superbly designed and maintained golf courses.

4 Canadian Premiers will urge US officials to give Canadians a break - Still smarting from new US regulations requiring passports to enter the US, the premiers of Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Manitoba are traveling to Washington to put their case to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
They want to urge U.S. officials to be realistic about border crossings by Americans and Canadians and not do anything that might harm trade between the two countries.
One proposal on the table is contained in draft legislation that may be introduced to the Congress later this week. It would force officials to give adequate consideration to allowing both Canadians and Americans to use driver's licences instead of passports for id at the border. It would also exempt anyone under 17 from the passport requirement. The draft legislation proposes a pilot project using licences. It also asks for a full review of the passport rules in light of early experience of implementation of the new rules.
Jan 29, 2007 - After quite a few years of operating out of at least two different terminals at Pearson International Airport in Toronto, Air Canada has pulled all of its services -- international and domestic -- together under one roof at the newly redesigned Terminal 1.
As of January 30, 2007 arrivals and departures for all passengers on Air Canada, Air Canada Jazz and Air Canada Vacations will use Terminal 1. This comes with the opening of the new Pier F at Terminal 1 where all Air Canada's U.S. operations will be handled.
Air Canada promises quicker service, shorter walks between gates, and better customer service including new check in counters and self-serve kiosks. The intention is not only to serve Air Canada's customers better, but to make Toronto "the premier North American gateway for travellers to and from the U.S., Asia, Europe or the rest of the world," according to Montie Brewer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Air Canada.

Travel to Canada still low compared to other years - The good news is that the number of visitors to Canada from both the U.S. and overseas increased over October. The bad news is that these numbers are still the lowest in 25 years.
Same-day car travel from the U.S. had been falling since April 06, but increased in November by 1.5% (1.1 million trips.) Overnight trips from the U.S. were down marginally. But overall travel from the U.S. was up to 2.3 million trips -- an increase of 0.6% over October.
Travel from overseas visitors was up 2.1% to 379,000 trips. Most of the increase came from South Korean and Indian visitors.
Meanwhile, Canadians are travelling out of the country at record rates. Trips to the U.S. were at the highest level since Jan. 2001, and trips in November to overseas destinations increased by 1.3% over October.

If you plan to travel to the US by air in the new year, make sure you have a valid passport.
The new passport requirements come into effect January 23, 2007 and apply to all travellers entering the US by air, including returning Americans and people from Canada, Mexico, Central America, South America, the Caribbean and Bermuda.
If you plan to travel to the US by land or sea, you've got another year to get your passport. Homeland Security is planning a separate program, which will require all travelers, including Americans, who enter the US by land or sea to show a passport or an alternative security identification card starting as early as January 2008, but there has been no official date set.
If you need to get a passport, you will need to bring your birth certificate, two passport photos, a driver's licence, and of course, a form of payment, to the passport office. The current price for a passport in the U.S. is $97.00 and it will take 6-8 weeks to receive it. Or, for $187.00 you can have your passport expedited. There has been a large increase in passport applications, due to the new requirments, so make sure to allow lots of time to get your passport before your travel date.
